Cetirizine dihydrochloride 1mg/1ml.
Symptoms
Offers daily relief from the symptoms of hayfever and year-round allergic rhinitis, e.g. watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. It also relieves allergic skin conditions such as urticaria (hives/itchy skin rashes).
Adults
Adults: 1 x 5ml tsp twice daily or 2 x 5ml tsps once daily.
Children
Children: 6-12 yrs: 1 x 5ml tsp twice daily. 2-6 yrs: dose is based on approximate body weight of the child: 10kg = 1 x 1.5ml twice daily; 15kg = 1 x 2.5ml twice daily; 20kg = 1 x 3ml twice daily; 25kg = 1 x 4ml twice daily; 30kg = 1 x 4.5ml twice daily. Use the dose-measuring device provided. Under 2 yrs: not recommended.
Warnings
Does not cause drowsiness in the majority of people at the recommended dose. However, as with all antihistamines, rare cases of drowsiness have been reported. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. As with all antihistamines, avoid excessive alcohol consumption when taking this medicine. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Zirtek Oral Solution. Do not take if you are breastfeeding.
